Kelitsadi Lake is one of Georgia's highest and most remote lakes, situated at 3081 meters above sea level in the Keli highland. The journey to this pristine and secluded lake is only possible on foot, ensuring an unspoiled experience. The easiest and most popular route to the lake begins from the Truso Valley.
Itinerary
Day 1: Tbilisi to Truso Valley, Ascend to Khorisari Plateau
- 7:00 AM - Departure from Tbilisi
Meeting Point: Tbilisi (airport or Hotel)

Start Point: Village of Nagkau, Truso Valley (elevation 2020 meters)
Distance: 5 km
Elevation Gain: 831 meters
Details: : Begin your hike along an alpine path with a 200-meter height difference. Ascend to the Samotkhe (Paradise) camp (elevation 2851 meters), where you will spend your first night. - 3:00 PM - Camp Setup and Exploration

Day 2: Ascend to Khorisari Pass, Reach Kelitsadi Lake

Distance: 9 km
Elevation Gain: 717 meters
Details: Begin the challenging ascent to Khorisari Pass (elevation 3550 meters), one of Georgia's most difficult passes. The peak of Khorisari is 3568 meters above sea level. If weather permits, you can ascend to the peak for stunning views, including Kelitsadi Lake, Gudauri, and surrounding peaks. - 12:00 PM - Break at Khorisari Pass
Details: Rest, hydrate, and take in the panoramic views. - 12:30 PM - Descend to Kelitsadi Lake
Elevation Loss: 469 meters
Details: Descend towards Kelitsadi Lake. This part of the hike is technical and can be dangerous in foggy conditions. Use a GPS device to ensure you stay on the correct path. - 3:30 PM - Arrive at Kelitsadi Lake and Lunch
Details: Arrive at the serene Kelitsadi Lake and enjoy a packed lunch by the water. - 4:30 PM - Explore and Set Up Camp

Day 3: Return to Truso Valley and Tbilisi
