Mount Kazbek is not a difficult climbing route, so you don't need rock climbing or mountaineering experience to get here.

Best Time to Visit:
The ideal time to undertake this expedition is from July to the end of September. During this period, stable weather conditions prevail, ensuring a safer ascent. However, travelers should be mindful of crevasses and the need for expert guidance.

Equipment and Preparation:
To climb the glacier, essential equipment includes crampons, ice-axe, mountaineering belt, helmet, hiking shoes, and appropriate clothing. Adequate physical and psychological readiness are crucial for a successful ascent.

Day 1: Departure from Tbilisi to Stefantsminda
  • Morning: Depart from Tbilisi City Center.
  • 10:30 AM: Arrival at Gergeti Trinity Church
  • 10:45 AM: Start trekking towards Sabertse Pass.
  • 1:30 PM: Arrival at Alti Hut (3015 meters above sea level).
  • Afternoon: Acclimatization at Alti Hut
  • Evening: Dinner and rest at Alti Hut.
Day 2: Trek from Alti Hut to Betlebi Hut
  • Morning: Depart from Alti Hut to Betlebi Hut.
  • Afternoon: Arrival at Betlebi Hut (3670 meters above sea level).
  • Evening: Acclimatization at Betlebi Hut.
  • Night: Rest at Betlebi Hut.
Day 3: Acclimatization at Betlebi Hut
  • Morning: Acclimatization hike to Betlemi Church (4000 meters above sea level).
  • Afternoon: Training on crampon and ice axe usage.
  • Evening: Preparation for summit day.
  • Night: Early rest at Betlebi Hut.
Day 4: Summit Day
  • 12:00 AM: Wake-up call and light breakfast.
  • 1:00 AM: Depart for the summit.
  • 10:00 AM: Reach the summit of Mount Kazbek (5054 meters above sea level).
  • Afternoon: Descent back to Betlebi Hut.
  • 4:00 PM: Arrival at Betlebi Hut.
  • Evening: Celebration and rest at Betlebi Hut.
Day 5: Return to Tbilisi
  • Morning: Breakfast at Betlebi Hut.
  • Afternoon: Departure from Betlebi Hut to Tbilisi.
